In sincere memory.

Luke– joined our program in March 2009 after being diagnosed with a DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma) in January 2009 at the age of ten. Luke was a loving and caring boy from a very early age. Like many kids, Christmas was his favorite time of year, but unlike most kids, he loved it for the true spirit of the season, not for the presents that came with it. He also loved decorating for the holidays and was known to have an inflatable decoration or two in his yard! After a courageous and hard-fought battle, the “Luker” earned his wings on September 30, 2009, joining his sister Kyley in Heaven. His parents Darren and Janet and his brothers Lance and Brent continue to keep his legacy of love alive, and everyone who was ever touched by Luke’s caring spirit misses him deeply.

Dominic– joined our program in August 2009. Dominic was diagnosed with a DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma) on April 1, 2009 at the age of seven years old. At the time, Dominic was a typical seven-year old – vibrant, happy and full of energy!! A few instances of double vision and loss of balance indicated to his parents that something might be wrong, and testing revealed the brain tumor. Dominic underwent six weeks of radiation treatments in an attempt to extend his life, as his type of tumor is inoperable. He was a fun-loving boy who enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together. He earned his wings on September 20, 2009 after fighting hard for almost six months. His brother Lennon and sister Lavender miss him greatly, as do his parents Dwight and Shauna. His beautiful smile is also missed greatly by all who knew him!

John W– joined our program in August 2008 and was the Cowboy of Send Love Today! John was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiform Grade IV Astrocytoma in May 2005. He underwent brain surgery, radiation and chemotherapy, yet the doctors gave him only 17 months to live. Little did the doctors know what kind of strength and faith this Cowboy had!! Despite facing many new tumor growths over the next four years, John continued to amaze the doctors with his tenacity. He inspired all who knew him with his tremendous faith in the Lord and his love for his family. John won his battle on September 3, 2009 when he earned his wings and joined his heavenly Father. He is missed greatly by his loving wife, children, parents and all who had the honor of knowing him. As John would always say, “Cowboy Up!”

Marilyn– joined our program in January 2007. She earned her wings on February 5, 2009 after a courageous battle. When diagnosed in August 2006 with a Grade IV Glioblastoma, her doctors gave her only eight months to live. But with the help of her loving husband and children, she fought hard for 2-1/2 years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Briannah– joined our program in August 2008. She had been diagnosed with Juvenile Pilocytic Astrocytoma at the age of four months old. Due to the size of the tumor, it was deemed inoperable, and chemotherapy was not an option since this was a benign tumor with no cure rate. Briannah was presented to the Burzynski Clinic in June 2007 and was treated with the experimental drug Antineoplaston. This treatment was successful in reducing the size of the tumor by 20% and allowed Briannah to live a more fulfilling life during her three short years. She earned her wings on January 24, 2009, and is greatly missed by her parents, her siblings and all who loved her!

Cheyenne– joined our program in March 2008. Cheyenne was diagnosed with Diffuse Pontine Glioma (tumor on brain stem) at the age of three. Although the doctors gave her only one year to live, Cheyenne’s fighting spirit and loving family helped her to persevere for six more years! Cheyenne spent much of her time raising money for her hospital or to buy toys for other children being treated for cancer. Cheyenne earned her wings on March 16, 2009 and is greatly missed by her loving mom and siblings. They are carrying on Cheyenne’s hard work with the Forever9Foundation, a nonprofit organization set up to help support the parents and siblings of a child who has died from cancer.

Erin– joined our program in April 2008. She was diagnosed with a brain tumor called Ependymoma at the age of ten months old. She underwent three brain surgeries as well as 39 radiation treatments and multiple chemotherapy treatments. Throughout all of this, Erin remained a joy to her parents and her older brother. After undergoing surgery and followup treatment, Stash was cancer-free for nine months. Then in September 2007, the tumor recurred as a grade 4 glioblastoma. Stash endured yet another surgery and additional chemotherapy and fought the disease as hard and as long as he could. He was a brave young man with an amazing smile, with a family who loves him very much. Stash loved his dogs, hunting for deer and playing his guitar. He earned his wings on January 18, 2008, and is greatly missed by his family and friends.

Despite all of the health problems that Sarah dealt with, her life was one of happiness and love. She had two loving parents, Michelle and Ben, and two siblings, Andrew and Emma. Her family meant the world to her! Sarah was a student at Laurel Christian School and loved learning new things. She always wanted to be at school no matter how bad she felt.
